Each week, I decided to create a new piece titled "Inspired By" I will take certain fashion icons of the past and present and create outfits that were and are inspired by today's fashion. I hope everyone will enjoy it and be inspired to create your own pieces from these great outfits.
I thought for the first week, I would start with some fresh faces on television, the Gossip Girls themselves, Serena, Blair, Vanessa and Jenny. Each of their styles are completely different so hopefully it will fit everyone's own personal style.
Each episode seems to be analyzed to a T on what they wore, but what makes this different is that I will take what they wear throughout the show and turn them into outfits that everyone can afford and wear on a daily basis.

Starting with....
Serena Van der Woodson
I don't know if you will all agree but I think that part of Serena style is how she carries herself, she always looks so comfortable in some of the hottest couture. Her style can be broken down into three categories:
- Sophisticated: Although she plays a 19 year old on the show, how many girls in the real world do we see dress like her, don't get me wrong we've all tried it but her sense of sophistication is remarkable.
- Sexy: There is no question that Serena is sexy, she's known for her low v-neck dresses and are just one of the many hot couture pieces that she's known for styling.
- Elegant: With a frantic social life, she always manages to dress with such elegance, but I guess one would if I was attending all the socialite parties she has to attend.

- Jewelry: Serena is known for her statement pieces of jewelry, from bangles and bracelets to hoop earrings, high waisted belts and multi layered necklaces.
- Handbags: We've seen her with Louis Vouton, Chanel, and Burburry just to name a few so we know that she is a fan of rocking shoulder bags and clutches.
- Shoes: A girl can never have too many shoes and Serena is just like us girls, she is scene sporting gladiator, pumps and boots. She likes to be comfortable as well as styled, as do we all.
What I like about Serena's outfits is that they're always flattering on her, they look flawless and comfortable. I like her style because it fits into her character perfectly, classy but always on the verge of stepping to the darker side of her personality, what do you like or dislike about Serena's style?
Blair Waldorf
Blair style always seems to revolve around three basic trends preppy, conservative and timeless. With these three different trends she also rocks the accessories from her trademark headbands to her lovely winter coats & shawls. Not only does she wear these great styles she looks great in this summer's floral and colorful prints.
- Preppy: Since ties and the feminine boyish looks are still popular; Blair pulls them off quite well and not all can say that, but on her it always seems to work with her character and she looks great acting the part.
- Conservative/Breakfast at Tiffany's: We all know that Blair has a sexy side to her but we seem to always witness her more conservative side leaving alot up to the imagination. We also know that her favorite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany's and Audrey Hepburns style is imitated alot on the character of Blair.
- Timeless: We all know that Blair sports retro and timeless pieces dated back many decades but with a modern twist. Her timeless looks make her character what it is and the personality to go along with each look.

- Jewelry: Blair is known for her one exclusive accessory; her headbands, they come in all styles, colors and designs.
- Handbags: Blair's handbags are essential in each of her outfits, they are big and small depending on the event she is attending but mainly we see her styling tote or shoulder bags.
- Shoes: Blair just like Vaneesa is the one person who can get away wearing just about any shoe, we see her in more pumps, heels and booties but she has also sported flats, which is a great way to get great use out of each outfit.
