What to Wear to Work

Whatever job you have, whether it's sitting at home on your computer, working for a fortune 500 company, working at an office, or scouting the next big band, what you wear represents what it is you do. I know when I worked for the TJX Companies, I tried to keep up to date with what was in style at the moment of course wearing a few classic pieces and accessories for pop. But nonetheless it was important to me because I worked for a fashion forward company and I love fashion. Not everyone likes work clothes, I can remember my first couple of jobs and I wished it was jean Friday everyday, so that I didn't have to worry about picking out my outfit the night before. The difference is that you can wear great clothes to work, one's that you feel comfortable in and that are stylish too. It's all about what makes you feel good about yourself. I know everyone spends alot of time choosing what to wear for their interview but once they get the job it's back to the basics, but it doesn't have to be that way, you can still get excited to pick out your outfit the night before. Now I absolutely love dressing for work, it's a way to represent myself and my mood for the day. I don't just throw the typical black ensemble on, I take my time to accessorize and make it something I am proud to wear, and believe it or not people take you much more seriously. With that said, I thought some of these outfits would look great for work and are comfortable. Some can even be changed over into the night wear.
When working at home not everyone works in their pajamas all day like everyone says, clearly I work from home and I would find this outfit very comfortable and I would be productive for the day and in case someone drops by I am still presentable. If you need to run out for a lunch date with someone this is sure to wow them too.
Wet Seal
Border Print Bubble Dress- $28.50

If you have a creative job and your interviewing a band or work for an art design company I am sure the office isn't dressed in a basic pant suit, I am sure you can be creative in the way you dress, so I put together an outfit that would make you stand out but yet allows you to be creative and comfortable without breaking any rules.

Forever21 Rachel Knit Vest- $22.80 Elephant Banded Back Tank- $11.80 Amberlynn Skinny Jean- $22.80

Now some people have to work for the Fortune 500 companies, which is great but most Fortune 500 companies entail a dress code for their office, so I went with something that is cute as well as presentable in an office. This outfit is sure to fit in the guidelines of work attire. I added a pop of color to this basic black suit/skirt.
Old Navy Cotton Twill Trapeze Blazer- $20.00 Sleeveless Button Front Shirt- $15.00 Cotton Twill Box Pleat Skirt- $29.50

Lastly, what I picked out would work in an office where the rules are a little bent but pretty much fits the basic office attire rules. With these two outfits, you can mix and match a different shirt with the skirt and the shirt can be worn with a jean jacket or blazer. Jacket when you leave the office to head out for drinks after work and a blazer if your self conscious about your arms, just make sure the blazer hits you at the waist or higher.

Ann Taylor Ann TaylorSilk/Cotton Textured Pencil Skirt- $29.99 Cotton Pleaded Neck- $65.00

Now that I've put together some work attires outfits, what does everyone think? Do you like the many options that come with these outfits? or would you completely change it all around? Let me know if you would wear these outfits, if not why? and if so why?

I hope these gave you some ideas how to mix and match and what is appropriate for your job, now instead of rolling out of bed and worrying about it in the morning, try to make these basics in your closet and feel comfortable wearing them.
